UkrSibbank to raise charter capital by 18 percent

Kharkiv-based UkrSibbank, owned by France’s BNP Paribas Group, is to raise its charter capital by 18 percent, or Hr 1.36 billion, to Hr 8.872 billion, Chairman of the bank's management board Philippe Joannier told Interfax-Ukraine.

“A meeting of UkrSibbank's stockholders took place today, Nov. 25. The stockholders decided on an additional issue of shares to the tune of Hr 1.36 billion,” he said.

The bank's charter capital now is Hr 7.512 billion.

UkrSibbank was founded in 1990. As of early Oct. 1, 2011, France’s BNP Paribas S.A. owned an 84.9995 percent stake in the bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development had a 15 percent stake.

As of Oct. 1, 2011, UkrSibbank ranked fifth among Ukraine's 175 operating banks in terms of overall assets, which were worth Hr 42.235 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
