Marriott Hotels chain in Ukraine could include 20-30 hotels in the future

The Ukrainian chain of Marriott Hotels International Ltd., one of the largest hotel chains in the world, could include from 20 to 30 hotels in the future, John Litzenberger, Vice President , International Hotel Development in Eastern Europe, Russia and the CIS, has said.

"We'd like to be present in all large regional centers. In long-term outlook, we could have from 20 to 30 hotels. We'd like to have them as quickly as possible, but 5-10 years is a realistic figure," he said after the signing of a first agreement in Ukraine on the management of the Leipzig Hotel under the Renaissance brand in Kyiv on May 23, 2012.

He said that Marriott is in talks on hotel management, in particular, in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Lviv and Donetsk. The chain is interested in its presence in Odesa.

In addition, Litzenberger said that talks in Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk are advancing well.He also said that in the coming three years the chain does not plan to open hotels under the Marriott's brands, apart from the hotel in Kyiv under the Renaissance brand.

Marriott Hotels International Ltd. is one of the largest hotel chains in the world. Marriott has over 3,700 hotels in 73 countries. Its major brands are Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton, Residence Inn, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn & Suites, TownePlace Suites and SpringHill Suites.
