French company to invest EUR 100 million in Yenakieve Steel
16 October 2012
French company Air Liquide intends to invest 100 million euros in the Yenakieve metallurgical mill.

This was announced at a press conference by Chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Andriy Shyshatsky.

Ukraine's major investment object will be launched in Yenakieve, Donetsk region, on October 18, the opening day of the 5th Investment Forum, the governor said.

"The French company Air Liquide on that day will open a construction site at the Yenakieve metallurgical plant of the group Metinvest," Shyshatsky said, adding, “the project involves building an air separation plant for the production of industrial gases. The total investment will be 100 million euros, and the construction site will be the largest investment object of Ukraine."

French company Air Liquide is the world leader in the production of gases for industry, medicine and environmental protection. The air separation plant in Yenakieve will not only significantly improve the ecological situation in the city, but also produce 1,700 tons of liquefied oxygen, nitrogen and argon per day. They will be used for the needs of the Yenakieve plant and a number of industry branches in Ukraine. The facility will be put into operation in mid-2014.

It is assumed that President Viktor Yanukovych will take part in the opening ceremony.
