Investors are planning to invest in Ukraine

Bleyzer Foundation investigated in January-February 2010 foreign investors mood among members of US-Ukraine business council (USUBC). The research showed that exist a group of businessmen interested in making investment in Ukraine. .
The USUBC includes 109 corporations with foreign investments that operate in Ukraine. The members of USUBC are AES Corporation, Baker & McKenzie, Baker Tilly Ukraine, The Boeing Company, Cargill, Chevron, Cisco Systems, The Coca-Cola Company, General Dynamics, Halliburton, IBM Ukraine, Kraft Foods Ukraine, Procter & Gamble, Shell Oil Company и Vanco Energy Company and others.
They have optimistic view concerning Ukraine. The More than half, that is 53.7% of interviewed investors are planning to invest in Ukraine in the next 6 months, another 24.4% are showing caution and still considering. At the same time 20% of respondents prefer invest in Ukraine comparing to other countries of Central and East Europe.
43.9% of respondents are going to increase the number of jobs at their Ukraine-based companies in the next six months. Only 2.4% will reduce job places and more than half of respondents (that is 53.7%) will keep the same number of the employees.
Also recently Fitch and Standard and Poor’s updated Ukrainian rating to Stable from Negative. These changes are very important because the strong position of Ukraine in the world financial market will help to attract new investments.
Let us remind that among main factors reducing investment attractiveness of Ukraine are politic instability, changing legislation and poor financial system.
For those who still considering making investment in Ukraine should accelerate. Most banks in Ukraine are making stake on appreciation of local currency - hryvnia. Existing exchange rate is very attractive for making investment in Ukrainian economy because further hryvnia appreciation will allow receiving additional profit.
