State of winter crops in Ukraine good and satisfactory on almost 90% of fields

Winter crops in Ukraine in Ukraine are in good and satisfactory state on 90% of fields, the director of the plant cultivation markets at the Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry, Oleksandr Demydov, has said.
"Winter crops are in good state on some 60% of the fields, in satisfactory state on 30% of the fields and weak on some 10%," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
Demydov said that Ukraine sowed around 10 million hectares with winter crops this year, including 8.3 million hectares with grain crops. Wheat crops were sowed on 6.5 million hectares, rye on 290,000 hectares and rape seeds on 1.08 million hectares.
