Astarta buys seven farming companies since early 2011

Astarta, a leading producer of agricultural products and sugar, has acquired corporate rights in seven farming companies since early 2011, spending almost EUR 32. million, reads an annual report of the company published on Wednesday.
According to the report, the value of the deals varies from EUR 1,000 to EUR 1.8 million.
The report says that the group sold LLC Astarta-trade for UAH 665,000 (EUR 63,000) and established two subsidiaries LLC Astarta-Selekciya and LLC Agro-Tradex with authorized share capitals amounting to UAH 10,000 (EUR 1,000) each.
According to the group's strategy, the land bank under cultivation is expected to expand to about 250,000 hectares by the end of 2011.
Astarta is a vertically integrated agribusiness with five regional divisions in Poltava, Vinnytsia and Khmelnytsky regions. Its core business is the production of sugar, grain and sunflower seeds, as well as meat and milk production.
