Agromars mulling construction of poultry farm in Zhytomyr region
25 October 2010
Agromars Complex Ltd., which sells poultry meat under the Havrylivski Kurchata trademark in Ukraine, is mulling the construction of a poultry complex in Zhytomyr region's Berdychiv district.

The complex is designed to breed 30 million broiler chickens and produce 40 million breeding eggs per year, Oleksiy Marchenko, the director general of Agromars Complex Ltd., told Interfax-Ukraine.

He said the timeframe for the launch of the complex's construction has not been determined yet, as the company has not yet completed bureaucratic procedures on the land plot for the construction site. The transfer of agricultural land for the construction of cattle and poultry breeding complexes has not been legislatively settled in Ukraine, he said. He expressed hope that this issue would be resolved in the near future, saying that the state treats the issue with understanding.

Agromars Complex was set up in 1998 as a closed joint-stock company and was reorganized into a limited liability company in 2007. It has 13 breeding farms with about one million breeding chickens and 37 broiler farms with nine million broiler chickens.

Moreover, it operates a slaughtering and poultry processing facility with a capacity of 15,000 broiler chickens per hour.

It also has two mixed fodder factories whose overall capacity is 2,000 tonnes of mixed fodder per 24 hours.
